A New Year’s resolution – checking those motorcycle insurance quotes

Traditionally this is not the favourite time of year for many bikers, even those that do not consider themselves to be fair weather riders. Even so, the dark nights coupled with everyone telling you to make some New Year’s resolutions, may encourage you to think about checking some motorcycle insurance quotes.

Here’s why:

• if you have held your current policy for some time, there is a fair chance that things in the motorbike insurance marketplace will have moved on;
• it may be the case that there are now more cost-attractive solutions available or that you may be able to find more appealing motorbike insurance cover in terms of its relationship to the way you use your bike (in fact, you may be able to achieve both);
• sometimes, we may even have changed the way we use our bikes without being aware of it (e.g. significantly increasing our annual mileage) – in some extreme cases, that may even put our insurance cover at risk unless we notify the insurers;
• perhaps your bike has just crossed an age boundary and would now qualify for classic bike insurance cover;
• it may be that you may have acquired other motorcycles and might now benefit from the potential cost advantages of having a multi bike insurance policy;
• just as bikes age, so do bikers, even though we may prefer to describe this as becoming more experienced rather than getting older – some policies may offer particularly attractive deals for bikers who have a certain minimum number of years’ experience and a no claims history;
• perhaps some time ago you were unable to guarantee the garaging of your bike overnight but have since moved and now are able to do so, in which case, some motorcycle insurance quotes may offer attractive discounts for the additional security you are providing;
